Gordon A S Currie. FCA.

Has specialised in turnaround and development situations in the hotel leisure and television industries worldwide
As a 21 year old chartered accountant, Gordon joined Granada Television in the early days of commercial television and for the launch of Coronation Street. From there he went to Scottish Television International when it was participating in the construction of government sponsored television stations in the newly independent commonwealth countries in West Africa, Jamaica and Gibraltar.
After completion of this project he became Development Director of the Mecca catering/entertainment group during a major expansion period. He then acquired several small hotel companies, upgrading and expanding them into an attractive chain which was floated on the Stock Market. Gordon then moved on to buying, developing and successfully selling hotels in Bermuda.
In 1981 Gordon returned to television with acquisition of several small facilities and production companies leading to his flotation as chairman of the entertainment companies as Capital Television PLC (pop music TV shows and videos including the world famous Adam Ant promos) followed by his flotation of the corporate production companies as Crown Television PLC.
Following theses successful flotations he again acquired more hotels including Sir Christopher Wrens House in Windsor which was refurbished renovated and extended into a superb hotel prior to its sale. The restoration, redevelopment and expansion of The Great House at Sonning, near Henley/Reading came next leading to its sale in December 2013.
Today Gordon manages private funds invested in the hotel catering and property industry and, through Calpe Hotels, provides help, advice and mentoring to hotel and leisure companies to assist with expansion, turnaround situations, developments, profit creation and successful exit strategy.
